Amos

Amos SP371-Pygmy Sperm Whale (Kogia breviceps)

Stranded alive July 20th at Sea Rim State Park. The TMMSN's live animal response team immediately responded and cared for this animal in our Galveston facility. This animal was in very guarded condition, almost 8 ft. long, and estimated to weigh 400 pounds.

The TMMSN continued to monitor his condition very closely, administered medications, fed it a liquid diet to keep it hydrated, and supported it in a floating sling. However, he succumbed to its illness.
