TMMSN Volunteers Respond to Live Bottlenose Dolphin,
San Luis Pass, TX.

December 28, 2010

The TMMSN critical care team responded to a live stranding the morning of December 28, 2010. Beachgoers notified the TMMSN on the 24 HR emergency pager number 1(800)9-MAMMAL and assisted with the initial support phase of the rescue.

The animal is a 244 cm mature adult female Bottlenose dolphin. The animal is currently requiring 24 hr in-water support from the TMMSN Critical care team. Trained volunteers are asked to please call the pool phone and sign up for a shift when available.
