Mattie

Mattie-PO351-Tursiops truncatus

On April 30, 1996, Mattie Stranded alive on a beach near Matagorda Bay, TX.

Mattie was estimated at 1 year of age at the time of stranding. For animals of this age that have only learned rudimentary survival skills, it is not likely that they will fare well after release. Therefore, Mattie was transported to SeaWorld San Antonio on October 31, 1996.

Mattie is doing very well and is now up front in the feeder pool. She has had one calf since she has been at SeaWorld named "Max." Mattie is now weighing in at 404 lbs.
